Review: Paul & Joe Moisture Lip Treatment

I bought this Paul & Joe Moisture Lip Treatment along with the Paul & Joe Loose Powder N around a week and a half ago.

I've only got half the tube left.

And no. I haven't been eating it. I haven't even been using it everyday, or smothering my lips with a thick layer every couple of hours.

The formula is actually very thick. On my FIRST application on both my upper and lower lips, I found that when I rotated the balm back down into the tube cavity, it had gone down by a little bit!

Several days and several applications later, as I said, half of the tube is basically gone. Shocking isn't it.

Okay, so leaving the topic of how fast it's used up.

As you can see, it's just a normal white balm, quite similar to the original Nivea lipbalm (the one in the blue case, except it costs a whopping £11 instead of ~£1.20), although it's completely unscented and thicker in consistency. It's also a bit more tenacious, thus less easy to rub off and leaves a pretty sheen to your lips.

In terms of moisture, to be honest I haven't actually noticed any difference compared to a normal drugstore lipbalm, like a Nivea one for instance. Although I do like it...

So all in all, I can't say it was worth the £11 that I forked out for it, unfortunately.

However, if you're convinced that you do want to buy it for whatever reason and you live in the UK, don't get it from a shop like Harrods or Fenwick. Get it from asos.com - they have a nice Paul & Joe Limited Edition ASOS Exclusive Christmas Lip & Skincare Cosmetic Pouch which is ALSO £11! (I was really gutted after I saw it...) You just have to pay for postage which is like £3, which is like the same as using your Oyster in London on the underground.

Ratings:

Price: 2/5
Packaging: 3/5
Moisture: 4/5
Finish: 5/5
Scent: 5/5

I can't say this product really does it for me. Although I can't say I regret buying it since it's not actually a bad product, it's just seriously overpriced.

P.S. If you're a UK resident. GET THIS MONTH'S GLAMOUR MAGAZINE! You get a free bottle of Nails Inc Nail Polish worth £11.50 =D

Ah. Thanks for your thoughts on this though! It reminds me kind of how Garden Botanika's Vitamin E Lip Treatment worked on me. It was really a fantastic balm but I'd practically go through an entire one in about 1.5 weeks... which is kind of ridiculous when it costs $13. But then I found my HG Soapalaya Soaps which has a realllly similar formula and costs about 1/4 the price for 2x the amount of product!

haha i wish i could use up a lip balm that fast! for some reason i can't seem to finish up any lip balms fast enough, i always put it on and forget to reapply throughout the day! i'm trying to learn to remember more and change that though! thanks for sharing your thougths on this product!

It is very uncanny how you go through lip balm so fast! The Nivea one and now this one!? Jian, pace yourself! :P

Haha, I know I should have done the eyeliner more toward the lash line but I had already messed up on the wing and was too stubborn/lazy to redo it again.

Of course I don't hate you, why would I? I always welcome criticism. A better one to come! :)
